Baby Gracie – newborn portraits

It was lovely to hear from Chelsea the other week to let me know she had welcomed another baby into her family. I last photographed Chelsea’s newborn baby in lockdown when she had little Lacey.

We did those portraits outdoors due to the COVID restrictions so it was lovely to see the family again 4 years later for baby Gracie’s newborn photos.

With 5 siblings Gracie will never be short of someone to give a cuddle or play with so we had fun with each sibling taking it in turns to hold her for photos.

Little Gracie was really good for her photos – love her little fuzzy hair – we had fun picking out little headbands and hats for her to wear as well.

After photos of Gracie on her own there was then time for photos with proud Mum and Dad where Gracie looked so cute draped over Dad’s arm flat out sleeping!

I love to welcome families back to the studio and to see a family growing. If you are expecting a new arrival this year drop me a message to book in a newborn photo session.

Julie – Maternity portraits

Julie came to visit me in my studio in Fletchertown just before Christmas. It was therefore a great idea to wear a Christmas jumper!

Love Julie and her husband’s disney jumpers, so cute! Julie had brought along a couple of dresses to wear for the photo session too, as well as using some of my maternity gowns in my collection.

I love to incorporate props into maternity sessions like scan photos and baby booties. It’s always lovely to see baby in these props afterwards.

My studio is next to some pretty grounds for photos too so it’s always possible to do some outdoor portraits as well as inside too – especially in the winter!

If you are expecting a new arrival soon the best time to book in for maternity photos is around 34-36 weeks gestation. Drop me a message to capture your bumps!

Eliza – First Birthday

I love to see little ones celebrating their birthday. If you didn’t fancy doing a cake smash then why not just book in for a mini photo session.

I provide balloons and my little teepee for the photo session.

Little Eliza really enjoyed the balloons, she even tried to eat them! She had lots of fun hiding in the teepee and peeping around at us.

After we had fun in the teepee Eliza’s doggy friends joined us for some photos too, there were many treats involved in getting these photos!

Such a lovely happy little girl, it was a pleasure to photograph!

Contact me if your little one is about to celebrate a birthday and you would like to capture these moments xx

Sienna – newborn portraits

Little Sienna was born just before Christmas and it was lovely to see her joined by her big brother too.

I do love newborn and sibling portraits, always fun to do when they lie down together and snuggle up.

Sienna looked so cute in a little wrap and hairband, she wasn’t too keen on being asleep but after more milk and cuddles she finally fell asleep!

Parents portraits as well as siblings too are so special, even if you do not feel confident in front of the camera it’s worth doing so you have these memories to look back on!

If you are expecting a baby this year drop me a message to book in a newborn session.

Zoe – cake smash

I photographed Zoe’s Mum when she was pregnant with Zoe on location in Keswick so it was lovely to see her again now she is 1!

We did her cake smash/birthday photos on her actual 1st Birthday. Once Zoe was used to the camera and all the balloons we had some fun playing peekaboo and having a little party with all her stuffed animals – love how cute this was!

Zoe wanted Mum and Dad to wear a hat too, she wasn’t too keen on her birthday hat!

After some fun photos with the balloons it was time to bring out the cake. All my cake smash cakes are handmade by Delicious Doughnuts and Delights based in Aspatria. Her cakes are stunning and I’m always jealous of cake smashes!

Zoe wasn’t too keen to get stuck in straight away, preferring to pick off the sugar flowers and eat them. She did like sticking her feet in the icing and enjoyed smashing the cake with the wooden spoon!

After the cake was smashed we did a few photos in the bathtub to get cleaned up.

If your little one is about to turn 1 contact me to book in a cake smash, its such a fun thing to do and we can theme it for you as well.

Baby Jude and family

Little Jude was just a few days old when he came to the studio for his photo session. Born on Christmas day!

The whole family came including his three older siblings who were amazing for their photos (some bribery was needed!) I always photograph siblings first so they don’t get bored waiting for their turn!

Jude wasn’t keen to sleep but we still managed to get lots of lovely portraits of him and the family together.

Love his cute little face all bundled up in a wrap.

My newborn sessions take a couple of hours to complete, working around baby’s needs to plenty of time for milk breaks!

If you are expecting a baby this year and would like to book in let me know, I usually pencil in a date a week after your due date.

Glynn family – Holiday photographs

I do a lot of photo sessions in the summertime on location in the Lakes so it was a nice change to visit a family who are holidaying in the Lakes for New Years.

Jane and her extended family were staying at Greenwood Holiday cottage in Wigton where I do a special offer for guests for photo sessions.

It was an icy but bright morning for their portraits, we started off inside by the Christmas tree which was lovely before we headed out into the gardens.

We had lots of fun with the family practising cool and crazy walks and huddling up for warmth. Jane’s grandchildren were so adorable hiding and running around and sharing chocolate!

Contact me if you are planning a Lake District holiday and would like some holiday portraits.

Vibhuti – maternity portraits

Happy New Year all!

Vibhuti contacted me around her 34th week into her pregnancy for some photos. She had some great ideas for poses and outfits, even arriving with a suitcase of clothes!

I do maternity portraits in my studio in Fletchertown near Aspatria. My studio space has some outdoor areas nearby with trees and flowers. Although in the winter time there were no flowers about!

Fortunately we improvised with some leaves and found some lovely red berries on a bush too which was very Christmassy!

Vibhuti was brave enough to go without a coat in the winter weather – full props to you!

Indoors we tested out a selection of dresses including a few gowns that I own too. A great way to dress up and celebrate your new arrival!

Contact me to book in your own maternity session, these usually take place around 34-36 weeks.

Aria, Delilah & Robbie – summertime portraits

I have known Delilah since she was tiny so it was lovely to see their family grow again with the addition of little baby Robbie, a sibling for Aria and Delilah.

We did their photo session outside in Fletchertown in the fields of wild flowers and grasses.

We had fun with the kids lying down on a blanket and holding flowers and running around. I always love outdoors photos, especially when the weather is finally looking better!

Let me know if you would like some up to date family portraits in the summertime long grasses of Fletchertown.

Baby Fraser

It wasn’t too long ago that I was photographing little Fergus as a baby so to meet his new little baby brother Fraser was lovely.

Little Fraser was a superstar for his photos although he didn’t want to sleep and Fergus was so good with his brother kissing him on the head and was very interested in the little baby bed for him!

The family photos are always my favourite as it’s so nice to see everyone cuddled together with their new arrival.

If you are expecting a baby in the Autumn let me know, you can book in for a newborn session around your due date.
