Julie – Maternity portraits

Julie came to visit me in my studio in Fletchertown just before Christmas. It was therefore a great idea to wear a Christmas jumper!

Love Julie and her husband’s disney jumpers, so cute! Julie had brought along a couple of dresses to wear for the photo session too, as well as using some of my maternity gowns in my collection.

I love to incorporate props into maternity sessions like scan photos and baby booties. It’s always lovely to see baby in these props afterwards.

My studio is next to some pretty grounds for photos too so it’s always possible to do some outdoor portraits as well as inside too – especially in the winter!

If you are expecting a new arrival soon the best time to book in for maternity photos is around 34-36 weeks gestation. Drop me a message to capture your bumps!

Baby Jude and family

Little Jude was just a few days old when he came to the studio for his photo session. Born on Christmas day!

The whole family came including his three older siblings who were amazing for their photos (some bribery was needed!) I always photograph siblings first so they don’t get bored waiting for their turn!

Jude wasn’t keen to sleep but we still managed to get lots of lovely portraits of him and the family together.

Love his cute little face all bundled up in a wrap.

My newborn sessions take a couple of hours to complete, working around baby’s needs to plenty of time for milk breaks!

If you are expecting a baby this year and would like to book in let me know, I usually pencil in a date a week after your due date.

Archie, Carlisle newborn photography

I think when I did Rachel’s pregnancy photo session I predicted she would have a boy but then I am having a run on baby boys being born!

It was lovely to meet little Archie for his newborn portraits – hes a teeny tiny little one under 7lbs and so adorable with his beautiful head of hair!

He was a little angel for his photos, I particularly like the images of the family together – there is something special about the bond you all share in those first few weeks and even if you are not feeling at your best its worthwhile getting photos of you with your baby – these are moments you will treasure forever!

I have a special offer on for Mother’s Day portraits – check out my facebook page for more details! xx

Nova

What a beautiful name for a baby – little Nova! She is so adorable, very alert and strong already at 3 weeks old.

She was a little angel for her photos – even smiling for us! Her big brothers Riley and Bailey were on hand for cuddles and kisses too. We also had time for some family photos too, these are always great to do – to see a family grow and its clear Nova will be very loved and looked after by her big brothers!

I photograph newborn sessions in the comfort of your own home, I find baby is much more comfortable and you will feel much more relaxed than being in a studio environment.

Contact me to book in a newborn photo session. These are usually best in the first two weeks of baby being born but they can be done after that – Nova is proof that even a little older they are much more aware and even smiling in some cases!

Ethan – Autumnal family portraits – Carlisle

As a newborn and family photographer based in the lovely Lake District I really enjoy doing family portraits outdoors rather than in a studio – the kids can run free and the colours as the seasons changes are always amazing.

Autumnal portraits are a personal favourite of mine. I last saw Ethan when he was 6 months old so it was fab to see him again as a fully fledged toddler! We had some great fun throwing leaves around and peeping around trees. He has the most adorable smile!

Contact me to find out how to book in your own family photo session in the beautiful Lake District!

Pearl – Autumn portraits in Lake District

The last time I photographed Pearl’s Mum Rachel she was still inside Mummy’s tummy – we did their maternity portraits in the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield so it was only fitting to return to the Botanical Gardens to photograph Pearl again in the Autumn nearly a year later!

Such a cute smiley little baby she is adorable – we had some fun throwing leaves around and clapping and singing – she loves the camera!

Outdoor family portraits are always my favourite – give me a shout if you want to book in a session!
