Niamh & Myla – Fletchertown portraits

The little fields and orchard’s surrounding my studio space in Fletchertown (near Wigton) are amazing in the summertime with long grasses and wild flowers.

I often run mini photo sessions for families, thirty minute portraits – ideal for kids with short attention spans!

Niamh and Myla looked so cute and had fun in the flowers, picking apples in the orchard and giving each other cuddles.

We had chance for photos with their parents too, I love how kids have the freedom to run around, makes for lovely natural photos.

Contact me if you would like to hear about summertime photo sessions in Fletchertown.

Honey – Fletchertown portraits

I have met Honey before and she wanted some portraits with her pet dog so it was a great idea to head down to the fields of Fletchertown for some photos

I love it in the summer when the grass is long and the wildflowers are growing. Plenty of space for running around and jumping.

There is an orchard too for shelter under apple trees, the perfect location for family photo sessions.

Give me a shout if you would like some up to date family portraits

Gyte family – Coniston family photos

I love to photograph families on location in the Lake District. Its the perfect way to celebrate a family holiday than with some photos to remember the occasion.

The Gyte family were all staying together on a farm right on the shore of Coniston so it was the perfect place for a photo session.

With several generations of family it was good to get photos of them all together and with the grandparents.

The gardens of the holiday cottage were lovely and it was just a short walk down to the lake for more photos, we had fun running around with the kids and capturing memories to treasure.

Contact me if you are on holiday in the Lakes with your family and you would like some photographs.

Archie & Olivia – Keswick portraits

I love to photograph families outside as not only do we live in an amazing area for photographs but also kids much prefer running around in nature!

In Keswick there is a lovely area called Hope Park near the lake. In the middle of the park is a fab patch of daffodils, perfect for springtime portraits. There are also several blossom trees in the park too.

Archie and Olivia had fun holding daffodils and running around. We also played some hide and seek which is always good for fun photos.

I will be back in Keswick photographing families in April, let me know if you would like more details

Baby Carla – newborn photographers Cumbria

Baby Carla was just under two weeks old when she arrived at the studio for her newborn photo session. She brought her family with her including her lovely big sister Julia.

Carla was happy for her photos when we freed her arms from the wrap and she had a nice full tummy,

We took photos of her with her little toys as well. Then it was time for photos with Julia, after a bit of bribery with sweets we managed to get some great photos! Two year olds always know their own minds so its always fun trying to get them to pose!

Lovely family photos to treasure forever, congratulations on your new arrival! xx

Effie & Jenson – Mother’s Day minis

I have known this lovely family for a while, photographing Jenson outside in Dodd Wood when he was younger so it was lovely to meet their new addition Effie last year.

Hayley took advantage of our Mother’s Day mini photo sessions offer to get some up to date photos of the family together.

Despite Effie not being keen on having her photo taken we managed to capture some elusive smiles from her which we were so pleased with – there was a lot of singing that went into this!

Effie also loved reading a book with Mum too. I love these cuddled up photos of the family together, a great way of capturing special moments for Mother’s Day!

Allonby family portraits

Did you know that Cumbria/the Lake District has an amazing coastline as well as all those lovely lakes?! We live between the main Lakes and the coast so we often visit Allonby for the beach there.

Its a lovely quiet place with fantastic pebbly beaches and the best ice cream shop!

I met this extended family during spring/summer for some up to date family photographs as a gift for the grandparents. I love to do this as I know how important it is for grandparents to see their family altogether.

Despite the breeziness of the beach (its not known for being hot!) we managed some fun photos of the kids running around the beach and practising their jumping skills before people got wrapped up in blankets and headed off for hot chocolate!

If you would love to book a beach photo session in Cumbria let me know – Allonby, Silloth and St Bees are all fab beaches!

Naomi & James – Keswick family photographs

Spring was in the air in Keswick for Naomi & James and family. I love doing outdoor family photo sessions in the Lake District and Hope Park in Keswick is an ideal location, close to the lake and also has lovely floral displays and hot chocolate available to buy nearby!

We had a blanket with us as well for photos of the kids lying down and had a wander up to the lake for photos with those spectacular views too.

I will be doing some springtime portraits in the Lakes so if you would be interested drop me a message.

Baby Aidan – newborn portraits in Cockermouth

In addition to studio newborn photo sessions I also do at home photo sessions too. This was a gift from a group of work ladies for a newborn photo session in their home in Cockermouth.

Baby Aidan was just a few weeks old and such a cutie, we had fun dressing him in the animal hats and posing him with lots of cuddly toys including a giraffe!

As the session was at home we could do photographs in his nursery and cuddled up on the sofa with his doggy friend too.

At home newborn sessions can be booked in around your due date, contact me for more details.

Chenery family – Keswick family portraits

One of the most fun parts of my job is photographing families in the Lake District. Families coming on holiday to the Lakes would love to capture these memories, especially if extended family are coming too.

The Chenery family were on holiday in Windermere and I met them in nearby Keswick for some family photos. The area near the lake by Hope Park is always pretty with great views and access to the lakeside.

We had fun jumping and running around the hills before heading onto the jetties next to the water, finishing off with a trip up to Friar’s Crag for those spectacular views.

We had fun with tree branches, running and hiding too, always great for getting the kids smiling.

The photos were taken in December, outdoor portraits are possible all year round, depending on the weather!
