If you are on holiday in the Lakes what better way to capture those memories than with a family photo session.

We headed to Keswick by the lake side for a family photo session with Harper and Ezra and family. Ezra wasn’t too keen on the camera until we headed to the lake for stone throwing!

Derwentwater has lots of geese and ducks by the water’s edge and they are usually always hungry so getting some bird food was a good idea although a cheeky goose stole poor Harper’s bag of food!

We also headed onto the jetty for photos too. Lovely happy memories. Natural family photos of everyone having fun are my favourite.

Forster family -Derwentwater

With 3 girls and one more about to arrive it was lovely to meet the Forster family at Derwentwater for some Autumn portraits.

Millie and her big sisters loved throwing leaves and running around together, there was posing, jumping and throwing stones in the lake too. Sometimes a photo session can double up as a workout!

Such a lovely family, it was a pleasure to meet them all and then photograph new arrival Katie shortly afterwards.

Adorable!

With spring around the corner I am crossing all my fingers and toes I can soon get back to photographing families again.

Autumnal family portraits at Derwentwater

My favourite place to photograph families is in the great outdoors, the Lake District is the best place to photograph you all having fun. One of my favourite times of year to photograph kids is the Autumn. The colours on the trees and the leaves on the ground make for lots of fun to throw around.

These two brothers were as good as gold for their portraits whether it was running with sticks, leaf fights or playing hiding in the bushes they are absolutely adorable!

We took these in Derwentwater and Great Wood surrrounding it, a fantastic peaceful places for family photographs – we were even visited by a friendly robin!

I love Autumn for portraits – the colours on the trees, the leaves to throw and plenty of opportunities to wear your best bobble hat!

The woods surrounding Derwentwater are amazing this time of year – we had great fun throwing leaves with families and even Paddy the dog enjoyed leaf throwing too. Love this little family – they are so good at smiling for the camera and that Autumn sunshine is beautiful.
