Baby Thomas, newborn portraits

Tiny Thomas was a little superstar for his newborn portraits, I love how newborn babies have the cutest little frowns, like little old men, so wise!

Thomas’ parents brought along a little cuddly elephant for photos as well which I always love to photograph with newborn babies for size comparison, its important to capture just how tiny they are!

As ever though I love the photos with his Mum & Dad cuddling him, these are the cutest little moments and a massive reason why I love newborn photography in Cumbria.

Autumnal portraits in Lake District

I have had a great Autumn in the Lakes. Despite the epic amounts of rainfall for October we managed to do some photo sessions in Dodd Wood & Great Wood.

Dodd is lovely and has lots of great little spots for collecting leaves and throwing them. It helps that afterwards there is a cafe for warming up!

Families enjoyed jumping, running and hiding whilst having lots of leaf fights. Then I also managed to get to Great Wood next to Derwentwater for photo sessions too. Despite the temperature the kids were all very tempted to go for a swim in the lake!

I love to take natural photos of families, kids smile much more when they are having fun and of course the opportunity to run around is always so much fun!

Autumn portraits in Derwentwater

I love Autumn for portraits – the colours on the trees, the leaves to throw and plenty of opportunities to wear your best bobble hat!

The woods surrounding Derwentwater are amazing this time of year – we had great fun throwing leaves with families and even Paddy the dog enjoyed leaf throwing too. Love this little family – they are so good at smiling for the camera and that Autumn sunshine is beautiful.

Beatrix – Buttermere newborn family portraits

It was lovely to see the fantastic Fowler family again. This time we met in Buttermere in the heart of the Lake District where I met the new addition to the family – little Beatrix.

The three sisters look so cute together and we even managed to get Wally the dog in some photos too! It was great to have fun watching the girls running around swinging on trees and skimming stones. What a fantastic backdrop for family portraits!

Abbie – Maternity portraits, Wigton

How beautiful is Abbie at 37 weeks pregnant with her third baby. Her adorable boys joined in with some photos too – and look so cute!

Abbie opted to have her photos taken at my mini pop up studio in Fletchertown. The advantage at this time of year is that the park across the road has some lovely long grass and buttercups so we had a chance to have photos outside too.

If you would like to book a maternity photo session for just £20 please contact me. Its best done around 36 weeks and you are more than welcome to bring your children too!

Penny, Autumn family portaits, Lake District

I’ve photographed Penny since she was just 6 months old so it was lovely to see her again and meet the family dog too! We took advantage of the Autumn sunshine for her portrait session with lots of family laughs, running, chasing and hiding!

Penny was keen to bring along her favourite toys Pat and AJ too! I love photographing families outdoors, its so much more natural, the Autumn colours are my favourite and there is much more space to run around!

Alfred & Lucy – Autumn family portraits

As a photographer in Cumbria its always a pleasure to take photographs of families as they grow over the years – I have known Faith and her family for a few years now photographing weddings in their family and also babies too!

So it was lovely to see Faith, Peter and their adorable kids Alfred & Lucy for some family photographs in Ecclesall Woods in Sheffield. The sun wasn’t shining but the leaves were still a beautiful golden colour and fantastic for a background. I love how cute Alfred and Lucy are together and the laughs and giggles they have as a family – the love shines through.

Eve – cake smash

Photographing families in Sheffield is fun. I am a Lake District family and portrait photographer but do travel to Sheffield to photograph families too.

Eve has just turned 1 which is a great excuse for a family photo session and of course cake! I do love a cake smash – Eve’s big brother helped her out with the cake smash too!

Jake & Liam

Family portraits in Sheffield are always good fun, especially when I get to see families I have photographed before. Little Liam looks so much like his brother when he was a baby! The Botanical Gardens as always was looking beautiful and Jake had lots of fun running around the flower beds entertaining us!
