Keswick maternity portraits

If you are on holiday in the Lake District why not take advantage of the amazing scenery for a maternity photo session?

I met this happy couple who were on holiday in the Lakes, I suggested the area around Keswick for photos which was perfect for the stunning views.

The park next to the lake has a great location, the Autumn leaves were a fab addition, we even had fun throwing them around!

After photos in the park we headed down to the lake and the jetty for photos, avoiding the scary geese!

We had a little walk up to Friar’s Crag too for photos. Despite the chill in the air the weather was lovely and if you can brave getting your bump out in the Autumn it’s always worth it!

Eadie, newborn baby portraits

I had the pleasure of meeting little Eadie on Sunday in my studio near Wigton. Eadie was just two weeks old and such a cute little dot, she brought along her big brother and family too.

Eadie’s Mum brought in lots of lovely outfits and blankets/teddies for photo props. I love to incorporate heirloom blankets or handmade knitted items and teddies as this makes the photos so lovely and personal.

Unfortunately Eadie wasn’t too keen on sleeping, she would much rather be feeding! But that’s ok as my well renowned patience allowed me to capture some sleepy moments in between feeding. Please don’t worry if your baby does not sleep, we can still get plenty of lovely photos.

Big Brother Ethan was the best at posing, cuddling his little sister and being generally awesome! We also had time for family photos too.

My little studio space is cosy with lots of hot drinks and biscuits available to keep you going while your little ones are posing!

Naomi & James – Keswick family photographs

Spring was in the air in Keswick for Naomi & James and family. I love doing outdoor family photo sessions in the Lake District and Hope Park in Keswick is an ideal location, close to the lake and also has lovely floral displays and hot chocolate available to buy nearby!

We had a blanket with us as well for photos of the kids lying down and had a wander up to the lake for photos with those spectacular views too.

I will be doing some springtime portraits in the Lakes so if you would be interested drop me a message.

Baby Ella, newborn portraits Cumbria

Tiny Baby Ella was just over a week old when we did her newborn photographs in Cumbria. My studio is based near Wigton and ideally situated for people who live in Carlisle and nearby.

Ella came along with her older brother Noah and her family too. Noah was a fantastic big brother, holding her and giving her kisses. These sibling photos are always the cutest to do.

After Ella had a nice big feed she was ready for photos on her own. She looked so adorable in the little hats and headbands, even though she refused to sleep!

After some adorable photos of Ella we then did some photos of all the family together, lots of lovely moments of everyone as a family.

If you are expecting a baby shortly let me know if you would like to book in a baby photo session

Jasmine – maternity portraits

Studio maternity portraits can be so much fun, my studio is based in Fletchertown in Cumbria, ideal for local families and even people travelling afar or on holiday in the Lake District.

Jasmine and her family live nearby and it was a pleasure to have them in the studio for some maternity photographs.

Jasmine looked amazing in my maternity gowns and she also brought along some dresses too.

Proud big sister to be was involved in photos too and it was lovely to get all the family in some photos before 3 becomes 4!

My studio has access to some lovely outdoor spaces with trees and long grasses so its always lovely to get photos outside (if the weather is ok!)

Maternity photographs are best done around 36 weeks. If you are expecting a new arrival soon give me a shout for a photo session.

Baby Aidan – newborn portraits in Cockermouth

In addition to studio newborn photo sessions I also do at home photo sessions too. This was a gift from a group of work ladies for a newborn photo session in their home in Cockermouth.

Baby Aidan was just a few weeks old and such a cutie, we had fun dressing him in the animal hats and posing him with lots of cuddly toys including a giraffe!

As the session was at home we could do photographs in his nursery and cuddled up on the sofa with his doggy friend too.

At home newborn sessions can be booked in around your due date, contact me for more details.

Chenery family – Keswick family portraits

One of the most fun parts of my job is photographing families in the Lake District. Families coming on holiday to the Lakes would love to capture these memories, especially if extended family are coming too.

The Chenery family were on holiday in Windermere and I met them in nearby Keswick for some family photos. The area near the lake by Hope Park is always pretty with great views and access to the lakeside.

We had fun jumping and running around the hills before heading onto the jetties next to the water, finishing off with a trip up to Friar’s Crag for those spectacular views.

We had fun with tree branches, running and hiding too, always great for getting the kids smiling.

The photos were taken in December, outdoor portraits are possible all year round, depending on the weather!

Baby Rex

Baby Rex is a little beauty. We had fun at his newborn photo session in my studio in Fletchertown, Cumbria.

His parents brought along a little dinosaur outfit too which we managed to get him to pose in – so cute! It’s always lovely for families to bring along their own props or blankets if they mean something to them, for example a family heirloom.

Rex wasn’t too keen on sleeping for his photos, preferring to stay awake and pull faces at us!

It’s always lovely to see baby’s personality.

After photos of Rex on his own we had time for photos with Mum and Dad too with some lovely photos of his head in their hands and his feet – which were not as tiny as you would think!

Such a lovely cute little family.

If you are expecting a new arrival soon please drop me a message to book in a photo session.

Anxhela – Maternity portraits

At 36 weeks it’s a fantastic time to book a maternity photo session. My cosy studio in Fletchertown is the ideal place to capture those special memories of your bump.

Anxhela looked amazing although she was recovering from a cold, you couldn’t tell! She brought along some props and some fab ideas for her portraits.

As well as the gowns I have for maternity sessions she brought along a shirt, flowers and an incredibly long length of chiffon!

She looks amazing in her outfit combinations and I love the flowers as a prop too, great idea! I love using a scan photo or little baby booties for photos too as this makes for a lovely photo comparison when baby is born too.

We then had some fun with the chiffon, getting her partner to throw it up in the air so we could get those dramatic Beyonce style photos!

I can’t wait to meet the little one! Good luck!

Alexis – cake smash

What better way to celebrate turning 1 than with a giant cake?!

Alexis had a lovely cake smash in my studio space in Fletchertown to celebrate his first birthday.

First birthday photo sessions in Cumbria can be so much fun. I usually start off with clean photos before the cake!

Alexis family brought in a ride in car for him as a birthday present and some balloons too which he enjoyed playing with.

We also had some fun with colourful confetti, great way to get some smiles!

Then it was time for cake! All my cake smash cakes are provided by Delicious Doughnuts and Delights, a local baker to Aspatria who does amazing cakes. You also get 4 cookies to keep too!

Alexis wasn’t too keen to smash the cake but once he got hold of a wooden spoon there was lots of fun to be had. We finished up with a little bath to clean off.

Its such a great way to celebrate a big milestone. Contact me to book your cake smashes in for your little ones.
