Baby Sapphire & family

Newborn portraits are one of my favourite kind of photo sessions, There is nothing more beautiful than a little squidge of a baby and the feeling of love shared with all the family.

Little Sapphire was very well behaved for her photos. Her parents brought along some props with little teddies and soft toys.

After photos of Sapphire on her own we did some photos with her parents too. I love these snuggled up photos with their little bundle. So cute!

Throwing it back now to baby Kai’s newborn portraits over a year ago. I have seen the family since several times for updated family photos.

Such a lovely little family and a special brothers bond between Kai and Luca.

Kai was so good for his photos. I love to include props for babies too so it was nice that the family had brought along a teddy bear too.

It’s lovely to see families grow throughout the years and do photo sessions as baby grows so Kai is much bigger now!

Aria & Delilah

In the summertime (when its not raining!) its nice to do photo sessions outdoors and its perfectly possible to do newborn sessions outside too.

I have done a few photo sessions with Aria before so it was lovely to meet her new baby sister Delilah.

We did this photo session in Fletchertown, near Wigton. There are lots of little areas there with long grasses and buttercups in the summertime, there is even a little playpark for bribery for smiles!

Newborn portraits are fantastic to do, I love tiny little babies and Fletcher was so adorable for his photos. Just a little bit of milk needed for him to be nice and sleepy.

We did these newborn portraits in the studio in Fletchertown near Wigton

I love it when people bring in props for photos as well. Fletcher’s Mum and Dad brought in an elephant toy that we managed to prop baby into which looked so adorable.

We even managed an outfit change into a safari print for his photos with the elephant.

It was lovely to see photos of him with Mum and Dad too, its always a good idea to do these photos as well if you are brave enough to be in front of the camera!

Tiny squishy newborn portraits are my favourite. Georgina was tiny at just under two weeks old and was as good as gold for her photos – she even pulled out a few smiles for us!

As much as I love photos of baby on their own in cute hats and blankets my favourite images are always the ones of baby with Mum and Dad – there is something magical about capturing that little bubble of time after you get home with baby and enjoy long snuggles in bed and marveling at how tiny they are. I love to capture these moments naturally in the comfort of your own home.

Let me know if you are expecting a new arrival and want to book in for a newborn photo session – these are best done in the first two weeks of baby arriving.

I love meeting new families and its so special when a new baby arrives into a family – Adam is lucky to have two adorable big sisters who will definately be doting on him as he gets older!

We did Adam’s newborn photo session in the space I have access to in Fletchertown near Wigton.

Adam was well behaved for his photos although not sure he was keen on those hats! I love the photos of him with his sisters – these are so cute!

Plus can I just say – how amazing does Mum look too! I know how hard it is to feel comfortable in front of the camera after giving birth but I think its so worth it to have photos of you with your little one too even if you have had no sleep!

I headed to Sheffield recently (where I used to live) for a weekend of spring themed photo sessions in the beautiful Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

Its one of my favourite places in spring with the magnolia trees in bloom and hundreds of daffodils spread around.

It was a pleasure to see Connie, Gina and their family again, they are fantastic kids, running around tickling each other with feathers.

I’ve known the Parkin family for a while now so it was lovely to see them again for some up to date family portraits in Ecclesall Woods in Sheffield. Sisters Heidi and Lola are so cute together, very good at the poses!

We had fun with hiding, running and of course plenty of leaf throwing!

I love to photograph families outdoors, the kids can be free and run around and we have lots of fun, the Autumn sunshine is just the best!

I love photographing portraits of families in the summer. Having known Lorna and Dave for a while it was fab to see little Liliana growing up. For this portrait session she was now 6 months old and full of smiles

The photo session took place at Padley Gorge in the Peak District, its the most beautiful stream running through the countryside and there is a pretty good ice cream van there too!

I love how relaxed and natural these portraits are – my main aim is to capture the fun and laughter between a family and this is clear to see here – such a lovely little girl who is now a big sister too!

Louisa is the cutest little baby for photographing. She was very aware of the camera and you could almost imagine she was posing at one point!

I love accessorizing with headbands and hats and how cute does she look with the rabbit hat next to her cuddly rabbit! After photos of baby on their own I like to photograph baby with parents too. I love to keep these portraits fairly natural with lots of cuddles, kisses and family snuggles. We even managed to get a few photos in Louisa’s nursery too.

Photos to treasure as your little one gets older.
