Callum, Megan & Oliver, Bitts Park family portraits, Carlisle

I love Bitts Park in Carlisle, its lovely all times of year and now that Autumn is here and the leaves are turning its a fantastic location for family portraits.

It was lovely to meet cousins Callum, Megan and Oliver and their families for a joint photo session. We had lots of fun running around, collecting conkers and sticks and finding wild flowers to pose in!

I love the natural family portraits where the kids are running around enjoying the fresh air – the smiles are infectious.

Sophie & Jennifer – Summer family portraits

I often head back to Sheffield (where I used to live) for family photo sessions throughout the year and the first weekend of the Summer Holidays was spent in the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield photographing lots of fantastic families.

Adorable sisters Sophie & Jennifer were so well behaved for their photos – there was lots of running around, cuddling and having fun!

These natural moments are definitely my favourite. Let me know if you would like an outdoor family photo shoot, there is no limit on the age of the children, I have even photographed newborn babies outside too!

Georgie, newborn portraits Sheffield

I love photographing newborn portraits and its always fantastic to revisit families as they grow. I photographed little Amelia as a baby and she is now a big sister to little Georgie!

Georgie was very well behaved for her photos and her big sister Amelia was great at holding her for cuddles together too. We even managed to get a few family portraits with Millie the dog too!

I visited Sheffield for this photo session and do occasionally come back to Sheffield throughout the year for photo sessions. I am now based in Cumbria and photograph babies, bumps and families throughout the lovely Lake District – contact me to book in a photo shoot!

Joseph – Carlisle baby photography

I love photographing babies at all different ages – Joseph is 5 months old and at such a cute age – love those little smiles and laughter!

We got some lovely photographs of him on his own and also with all the family too – I love the joy and happiness on their faces as they all cuddle up close.

Archie, Carlisle newborn photography

I think when I did Rachel’s pregnancy photo session I predicted she would have a boy but then I am having a run on baby boys being born!

It was lovely to meet little Archie for his newborn portraits – hes a teeny tiny little one under 7lbs and so adorable with his beautiful head of hair!

He was a little angel for his photos, I particularly like the images of the family together – there is something special about the bond you all share in those first few weeks and even if you are not feeling at your best its worthwhile getting photos of you with your baby – these are moments you will treasure forever!

Cockermouth baby photography – Lifestyle newborn sessions

Congratulations on your tiny bundle! At the moment its a mix of emotions and sleep deprivation and an incredulous feeling of being a Mum!

If you are looking for a memento of your tiny baby a newborn photo shoot is an excellent idea. The way I work is different to the traditional studio approach to photography. I come to you for the session where you are most comfortable. I find this makes baby and you feel much less stressed. I will work around baby to create natural photos – preferring not to do too much posing. #

Although I always get a few adorable close ups of baby on their own I absolutely love to photograph baby with yourselves. I know what you might think – aargh I look a mess and I feel exhausted. Trust me you will not regret getting as few photos of you with baby – these photos show the pure love shared between baby and Mum & Dad. I live for these little moments – the laughs, the rocking baba to sleep the tiny feet squashed against you. These tell the true story of your new family so be brave and you may find you are pleasantly surprised with the results!
