Baby Carla – newborn photographers Cumbria

Baby Carla was just under two weeks old when she arrived at the studio for her newborn photo session. She brought her family with her including her lovely big sister Julia.

Carla was happy for her photos when we freed her arms from the wrap and she had a nice full tummy,

We took photos of her with her little toys as well. Then it was time for photos with Julia, after a bit of bribery with sweets we managed to get some great photos! Two year olds always know their own minds so its always fun trying to get them to pose!

Lovely family photos to treasure forever, congratulations on your new arrival! xx

Baby Luca

It was lovely to see Luca after I had photographed his Mum’s maternity portraits in Keswick. Iona looked amazing in her lakeside portraits.

Little Luca was absolutely adorable for his newborn portraits, he wasn’t too keen on sleeping but preferred to have plenty of milk!

Luca’s family brought along some personal teddies which was great to include in the photos too.

After we had tried lots of great hats on Luca it was time for some family photographs too. Snuggled into Mum and Dad he was at his most content.

I love to photograph newborn babies in Cumbria, its always lovely to capture these after maternity photographs too.

Baby Ella, newborn portraits Cumbria

Tiny Baby Ella was just over a week old when we did her newborn photographs in Cumbria. My studio is based near Wigton and ideally situated for people who live in Carlisle and nearby.

Ella came along with her older brother Noah and her family too. Noah was a fantastic big brother, holding her and giving her kisses. These sibling photos are always the cutest to do.

After Ella had a nice big feed she was ready for photos on her own. She looked so adorable in the little hats and headbands, even though she refused to sleep!

After some adorable photos of Ella we then did some photos of all the family together, lots of lovely moments of everyone as a family.

If you are expecting a baby shortly let me know if you would like to book in a baby photo session

Baby Thomas, newborn portraits

Tiny Thomas was a little superstar for his newborn portraits, I love how newborn babies have the cutest little frowns, like little old men, so wise!

Thomas’ parents brought along a little cuddly elephant for photos as well which I always love to photograph with newborn babies for size comparison, its important to capture just how tiny they are!

As ever though I love the photos with his Mum & Dad cuddling him, these are the cutest little moments and a massive reason why I love newborn photography in Cumbria.

Christmas mini sessions 2023

Well I have now completed all my Christmas mini sessions now and what a year it has been.

It has been so lovely to catch up with families I have photographed before as they are growing and to meet new children too.

We have had fun with snowballs, cuddly toys and my new prop addition, the Elton John glasses!

I also spent two sessions with the lovely kids and parents at the two by two toddler group in Fletchertown as well where we did lots of singing to try and raise the smiles!

It is all worth it and a great idea to give to family as Christmas presents.

If you are looking for some up to date photos of your family drop me a message, I will be running some winter studio mini dates in Jan/Feb.

Happy Christmas to you all!

Baby Lottie

Newborn photo sessions in Cumbria are fantastic to do. I especially love it when parents bring in their baby’s siblings too. Its so much fun bringing in siblings for photos, if they are old enough they can hold baby or they can lie next to them.

I have my ways of getting siblings to oblige – they may involve marshmallow bribes! Baby Lottie was adorable and her big sister was so good for photos with her too.

Love when her sister cuddles her close in the basket. Its worth getting photos of parents with baby too, these are such cute photos.

Lottie’s parents brought some props in as well including some lovely letters spelling her name. Adorable. I always incorporate props if you want to bring them along.

Newborn photo sessions are usually best done within the first two weeks of baby arriving. However, they can be done up to a few months old.

Poppy & Nell

Its always great to see children coming back to the studio again for more photos. I last met Poppy when she was turning 2. Now she is about to turn 3 and brought her little sister Nell in for photos too.

Nell is 6 months and such a cute little smiler, how adorable is she in her little dress!

Poppy took advantage of my teepee for hiding for photos and loved trailing flowers around too and generally running around. Perfect for those fun photos, I am a ninja at getting photos of kids in action!

A great way to celebrate a milestone year, book the studio in to celebrate your own special occasion. For first birthdays I even do cake smashes too!

Louise, maternity portraits

Its been a while since I have done a maternity photo session so it was lovely to see Louise and her bump in the studio last week.

Louise brought along little Sophia who entertained us all. She was fantastic for her photos and showed us what a great big sister she was by bringing her baby doll along! I love photos of her peeping out from her Mum and Dad’s legs!

Louise looks stunning, she looked fab even draped in a sheet! I love the classic photos like this just emphasizing her bump.

After photos in the studio we headed outside for a few portraits in the park in Fletchertown, we even managed to find some daffodils too.

I usually do maternity sessions around 36 weeks pregnant. Contact me if you would like to book in a studio or outdoors photo session.

Shannon, maternity portraits

Your pregnancy is such a special time, obviously apart from the morning sickness and heartburn!

What better way to document your bump than with a maternity photo session? Shannon opted for a studio and outdoors maternity photo session. I usually do photo sessions around 36 weeks pregnant, any later and you may go into labour!

Shannon’s studio session captured her and baby’s Dad too. I’m sure you will agree she looks amazing. After photos in the studio we headed outside for some photos outdoors in the park in Fletchertown. I love how natural the photos in the long grass are.

Contact me if you want to book in a baby bump session of your own!

Baby Freya, newborn portraits

Freya visited the studio last year in Fletchertown for her newborn portraits. I love all her fabulous dark hair, so adorable!

She was an absolute superstar for her photos, we managed to use several cute hats and headbands which look so lovely and also get a photo of her with a teddy too.

After photos of Freya on her own it was time for photos with Mum and Dad too. These are always so special to do as I love the connection between baby and parents.

Always worth doing!

Let me know if you would like to book a studio or at home photo session.
