Christmas Mini Sessions

With the festive season approaching I am now doing mini Christmas photo sessions in my pop up studio in Fletchertown.

Its the perfect way to get some great photos for the family. We have had lots of fun with snowball throwing, groovy Christmas dancing and lots of cuddles with our big Santa toy.

Let me know if you would like to book in a session for your family, all are welcome, even dogs!

Autumnal portraits in Lake District

I have had a great Autumn in the Lakes. Despite the epic amounts of rainfall for October we managed to do some photo sessions in Dodd Wood & Great Wood.

Dodd is lovely and has lots of great little spots for collecting leaves and throwing them. It helps that afterwards there is a cafe for warming up!

Families enjoyed jumping, running and hiding whilst having lots of leaf fights. Then I also managed to get to Great Wood next to Derwentwater for photo sessions too. Despite the temperature the kids were all very tempted to go for a swim in the lake!

I love to take natural photos of families, kids smile much more when they are having fun and of course the opportunity to run around is always so much fun!

I’ll be continuing to photograph outside in the Lakes, drop me a message if you would like to book in a photo session for your family.

Carlisle family portraits

Family reunions are my awesome to capture. With his daughter back from college in America with her best friend the Tweedie family invited me to capture their family in their garden near Carlisle over the jubilee weekend.

There were three generations and lots of laughter, we had fun with races, flags and overexcited chickens too!

I tend to capture extended families with a mix of posed and informal portraits, one hour is more than enough time to capture all of this and we had time for lots of fun.

Whether you would like a back garden photo session or photos by a lake, give me a shout and we can book in a time to suit you all and capture those memories with your family.

Ffion – new baby portraits

Studio newborn sessions are always fun, especially when the whole family is there, siblings and parents too.

Ffion was so adorable and looked so cute cuddled up with her little rabbit.

For sibling photos her adoring big brother cuddled her in a basket and we had them both lying down together too.

I love the family photos of everyone cuddled together too, so special.

Eva & Erin – sisters portraits

I’m sure by now you all know how much I love outdoor family portraits. Even with little babies its still possible to have portraits outside.

In the summer sunshine last year I headed to the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield for portraits with families.

Eva and Erin are so adorable together, posing for the camera and cuddling her little sister in the buttercups, I love these natural loving moments.

Perfect opportunity for running free, spinning and generally having fun!

Book in for your family portraits this summer with me for up to date photos of your family.

Hugo – family portraits

I first met Hugo when he was inside his Mum’s tummy for her maternity portraits several years ago so it was fab to be invited back to photograph the family again now they are expecting their new arrival.

Hugo was an outstanding poser, making sure I knew the best places to take photos! We did their portraits in the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield, the perfect summery place for photos. I love how there are colourful flowers there at all times of the year!

Maternity portraits with siblings can be so much fun, such special memories to look back on when your little one arrives.

I can do maternity sessions indoors or outdoors, if you are brave enough to head out into the lakes for portraits this summer let me know! I would love to photograph more beautiful bumps!

Shields family – Low Moor Woods portraits

I love discovering new places for walks nearby, especially as we have two boys who need the freedom to run around!

Low Moor woods is a little hidden gem of woodland, just up the road from Bothel village, hardly anyone goes there and there are lovely trails for walking and discovering.

I met the Shields family there for a photo session in the summertime. With kids that like to run around and race each other it was ideal. We had lots of fun with races, hiding and lots of family cuddles too.

Where is your favourite place to go for a family walk? Give me a shout if you would like some up to date family portraits.

Ewan, newborn portaits

Afternoon! Who is enjoying all this lovely warm weather?! I can’t wait to get outdoors for family portraits.

This blog post is a little throwback to a newborn session I did last year with little Ewan. He was the loveliest, sleepiest baby I have ever photographed, so chilled out!

After a few cute photos in little hats we got some family portraits too. The session took place in the family home where everyone could feel more comfortable. Once baby’s siblings were back home from school we could get photos with siblings too, these are my favourite sort of portraits.

Natural family photos capturing your special relationship with your new little bundle are the best.

Let me know if you would like to book in a newborn photo session.

Newborn Aston family portraits in Aspatria

It feels like I was photographing little Isla as a baby not too long ago so it was lovely to meet Isla’s new baby brother Aston at the end of last year.

They opted for an at home newborn photo session, always a good idea when you can feel comfortable and have access to everything you need for baby. Aston wasn’t too keen on sleeping for his photos but we managed to get some cute photos with a teddy and in some adorable hats!

It was then time to have fun with sibling portraits, with 3 other children there was plenty of bribery needed for these photos but we had lots of fun capturing these moments. I always think the ones where everyone is laughing are my favourite photos!

Contact me if you are expecting a new arrival this year!

Toby & Lucy, Fletchertown spring portraits

I love it when spring starts to arrive. The snowdrops are out now so not long until the daffodils make an appearance! And warmer days – phew, I am so ready for this to happen!

Fletchertown where I am based (near Wigton/Aspatria) has lovely little areas for outdoor photo sessions including the park and the orchard. There are a few daffodils around the area so perfect for running around.

Toby & Lucy enjoyed a run around the orchard and sniffing the spring flowers for their photo session!

Give me a shout if you would like to book in a spring photo session!
