Addison family – Keswick portraits

Its always lovely to be asked to capture a family portrait photo shoot on location and doing photos in the wintertime can be tricky to get the right conditions – especially in the Lake District!

It was great to meet the Addison crew for photos on the shores of Derwentwater in Keswick around Christmastime. The weather was cold but lovely and sunny – the perfect crispy winters day! They brought their new puppy along too which added more excitement!

We had fun with the boys running around and chasing each other with sticks and then headed down to the lake to say hello to the ducks!

I love to photograph families outdoors where the kids can run around free and the backdrop of Keswick couldn’t be more beautiful!

Contact me for more information about on location shoots and to book in one for your family or extended family.

Baby Xander

I love to photograph newborn babies in Cumbria. These are best captured within the first two weeks of baby arriving, however, they can be done after this.

I love a little squishy newborn baby with big cheeks – super cute. Its also lovely to capture tiny fingers and toes too.

Little Xander wasn’t too keen on sleeping but that is fine as its lovely to see a babies eyes too. The family brought along a cuddly elephant that we had to use a as a prop for photos. I love to see how small baby is compared to a cuddly toy.

As much as I love taking photos of babies all wrapped up and sleepy my absolute favourite images are the ones of Mum and Dad with their new arrival. Even if you are not feeling at your best and maybe you are sleep deprived its worth getting in front of the camera to capture those memories of you are your little one.

Contact me to book in a photo session if you are due in the next few months. Sessions can either take place in my studio in Fletchertown near Wigton or I can come to your house too.

Baby Caelan – newborn at home portraits

Newborn photographs at home are a lovely relaxed way to celebrate your new arrival.

You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to travel to the studio and we can make use out of your surroundings for some really lovely personal photographs.

I headed out towards Penrith to capture Baby Caelan’s portraits. Their lovely house was the perfect place for portraits. We managed to get some lovely snuggly photos of him in hats and in a little basket before he was dressed in an outfit for photos with Mum and Dad.

I love to take photos in baby’s nursery or in the family living space, as the weather was lovely too we took some photographs in the garden. such lovely natural portraits.

Contact me if you are expecting a new arrival and would like to have portraits done at home. I usually pencil these in for a week after your due date

Sarah was around the 34 week mark when she came into the studio for her maternity photo session. She looks amazing.

She brought along a few outfits but also borrowed some of my maternity gowns, I love the boho design gown, it looks stunning, the perfect way to show off your baby bump.

Feel free to bring along props to your maternity session and now the weather is picking up we can do some photos outdoors too – the spring flowers are popping up everywhere!

Baby Beau – newborn portraits

I met baby Beau’s brother a few year’s ago at my pop up Christmas mini sessions I run every year with Two by Two toddler group in Fletchertown so it was lovely to meet George’s new baby brother for a photo session.

George was a great little poser, although plenty of bribery and games were needed to get those poses! Baby Beau was lovely and chilled out, not too keen to sleep but such a little cutie, love squishy baby cheeks!

The family had brought along some cuddly toys including some that have been crocheted by a friend – such great quality! I always love to compare babies to cuddly toys in terms of size!

After photos of baby on his own it was time for photos with Mum and Dad too, these are my favoruite kind of photos where your little one is cuddled up to you and you are all cosy in your own little bubble.

If you are expecting a new arrival soon drop me a message to book in a newborn photo session, these usually take place in my studio in Fletchertown, however, I can also do at home lifestyle newborn photos in Cumbria too.

Julie – Maternity portraits

Julie came to visit me in my studio in Fletchertown just before Christmas. It was therefore a great idea to wear a Christmas jumper!

Love Julie and her husband’s disney jumpers, so cute! Julie had brought along a couple of dresses to wear for the photo session too, as well as using some of my maternity gowns in my collection.

I love to incorporate props into maternity sessions like scan photos and baby booties. It’s always lovely to see baby in these props afterwards.

My studio is next to some pretty grounds for photos too so it’s always possible to do some outdoor portraits as well as inside too – especially in the winter!

If you are expecting a new arrival soon the best time to book in for maternity photos is around 34-36 weeks gestation. Drop me a message to capture your bumps!

Eliza – First Birthday

I love to see little ones celebrating their birthday. If you didn’t fancy doing a cake smash then why not just book in for a mini photo session.

I provide balloons and my little teepee for the photo session.

Little Eliza really enjoyed the balloons, she even tried to eat them! She had lots of fun hiding in the teepee and peeping around at us.

After we had fun in the teepee Eliza’s doggy friends joined us for some photos too, there were many treats involved in getting these photos!

Such a lovely happy little girl, it was a pleasure to photograph!

Contact me if your little one is about to celebrate a birthday and you would like to capture these moments xx

Glynn family – Holiday photographs

I do a lot of photo sessions in the summertime on location in the Lakes so it was a nice change to visit a family who are holidaying in the Lakes for New Years.

Jane and her extended family were staying at Greenwood Holiday cottage in Wigton where I do a special offer for guests for photo sessions.

It was an icy but bright morning for their portraits, we started off inside by the Christmas tree which was lovely before we headed out into the gardens.

We had lots of fun with the family practising cool and crazy walks and huddling up for warmth. Jane’s grandchildren were so adorable hiding and running around and sharing chocolate!

Contact me if you are planning a Lake District holiday and would like some holiday portraits.

Aria, Delilah & Robbie – summertime portraits

I have known Delilah since she was tiny so it was lovely to see their family grow again with the addition of little baby Robbie, a sibling for Aria and Delilah.

We did their photo session outside in Fletchertown in the fields of wild flowers and grasses.

We had fun with the kids lying down on a blanket and holding flowers and running around. I always love outdoors photos, especially when the weather is finally looking better!

Let me know if you would like some up to date family portraits in the summertime long grasses of Fletchertown.

Ava – cake smash

The last time I saw Ava she was a little baby, she was just about to turn 1 when she popped into the studio with her Mum and Dad for her cake smash.

She wasn’t too keen to smile at the beginning but looked adorable in her party outfit! We did lots of singing and clapping to get some smiles.

After a bit of fun it was time to bring out the cake, Ava was very keen to just sample the buttercream but eventually with some help from Dad she was eating big chunks of cake and putting her feet in it!

After the cake smash we got clean with a bathtub full of bubbles. Ava had great fun splashing around.

Cake smashes are so much fun and a great way of capturing your little one’s first birthday!

Contact me for more details and how to book in.
