Ewan, newborn portaits

Afternoon! Who is enjoying all this lovely warm weather?! I can’t wait to get outdoors for family portraits.

This blog post is a little throwback to a newborn session I did last year with little Ewan. He was the loveliest, sleepiest baby I have ever photographed, so chilled out!

After a few cute photos in little hats we got some family portraits too. The session took place in the family home where everyone could feel more comfortable. Once baby’s siblings were back home from school we could get photos with siblings too, these are my favourite sort of portraits.

Natural family photos capturing your special relationship with your new little bundle are the best.

Let me know if you would like to book in a newborn photo session.

Family portraits on the farm, Wigton

When the spring and summer finally arrive and believe me I know we are all ready for it! I tend to do a lot of photo sessions outdoors where possible.

Extended family photo sessions with cousins are a lot of fun too so it was fab to head to the kids grandparent’s farm near Wigton for this photo session. With plenty of space to roam free and cows to say hello to it was lots of fun.

Running up and down the tracks framed by long grass and lovely trees is fantastic fun for kids, afterwards it was time for a well deserved ice cream!

Roll on summertime!

Toby & Lucy, Fletchertown spring portraits

I love it when spring starts to arrive. The snowdrops are out now so not long until the daffodils make an appearance! And warmer days – phew, I am so ready for this to happen!

Fletchertown where I am based (near Wigton/Aspatria) has lovely little areas for outdoor photo sessions including the park and the orchard. There are a few daffodils around the area so perfect for running around.

Toby & Lucy enjoyed a run around the orchard and sniffing the spring flowers for their photo session!

Give me a shout if you would like to book in a spring photo session!

Spring family portraits in Keswick.

Last year I found a lovely patch of daffodils in Hope Park in Keswick. Its a fantastic little area and of course afterwards there is always ice cream nearby and mini golf!

I had great fun meeting families I have seen before and catching up with little ones who have grown. The sun was shining and we had lots of fun running around, playing peekaboo and of course posing!

Let me know if you love the sunshine and daffodils and if you would be interested in booking in a spring photo session yourself.

Baby Freya, newborn portraits

Freya visited the studio last year in Fletchertown for her newborn portraits. I love all her fabulous dark hair, so adorable!

She was an absolute superstar for her photos, we managed to use several cute hats and headbands which look so lovely and also get a photo of her with a teddy too.

After photos of Freya on her own it was time for photos with Mum and Dad too. These are always so special to do as I love the connection between baby and parents.

Always worth doing!

Let me know if you would like to book a studio or at home photo session.

Elsie, newborn photographs

I love a newborn session around Christmas time, little Elsie was just over two weeks old when she came for her portraits. We did the session in my pop up studio in Fletchertown. Her big brother was on hand to pick out the best hats for the photos and of course show off how smart he looks in his little outfit!

We also had time for photos in Christmas clothes too, because lets face it, how adorable is a Christmas pudding onesie!

I love the photos of the family together too, mostly I know people are not keen to be on the photographs but I love the emotion captured when a family is all cuddled up together, special moments like these are to be treasured.

Contact me to book in your newborn photo session – these can be done in my studio in Fletchertown or I can come to you at home if you would prefer.

Family portraits with pets, Cumbria

I love photographing families and even better if you bring your pet pooches with you! The Stables family children have the most well behaved dogs, so lovely to see them running around with the kids.

It was perfect to do this photo shoot in the early evening light, the sunset was fantastic and with the sun setting earlier in the day in the wintertime the light was amazing.

Just to note this was taken before the country locked down. If you are interested in a photo session after restrictions are lifted please drop me a message.

Stay safe!

Elouise – cake smash!

What better way to celebrate turning 1 than with a cake smash and a little wander around the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield in your best party dress!

Elouise was a little star for her photographs with lots of smiles and laughs, we even got some walking too!

We got some lovely portraits with Mum and Dad too in amongst the lovely flowers in the Botanical Gardens

After we had enough of running around we got out the unicorn cake to celebrate Elouise’s first birthday and she had great fun destroying it, starting off dainty and then clutching big chunks of cake in her hands!

After she had smashed the cake with her hands and even her feet Mum & Dad decided to get involved too and ended up with cake on their faces too – awesome!!

I wish you a very happy first birthday, it was lovely to meet you all!

Delilah & Luke, Cockermouth family portraits

I love doing photo sessions outdoors and we patiently waited for the storms to pass before heading to Memorial Gardens in Cockermouth for some family portraits in the daffodils!

Delilah was very entertaining for the camera – picking her fair share of daffodils and Luke was adorable running around with his stick!

Natural family portraits outdoors are my favourite, the light and the chance for the kids to run around!

Contact me if you would like to arrange an outdoors family photo session now that spring has sprung!

Liliana – 6 months portraits at Padley Gorge

I love photographing portraits of families in the summer. Having known Lorna and Dave for a while it was fab to see little Liliana growing up. For this portrait session she was now 6 months old and full of smiles

The photo session took place at Padley Gorge in the Peak District, its the most beautiful stream running through the countryside and there is a pretty good ice cream van there too!

I love how relaxed and natural these portraits are – my main aim is to capture the fun and laughter between a family and this is clear to see here – such a lovely little girl who is now a big sister too!
