Baby Rex

Baby Rex is a little beauty. We had fun at his newborn photo session in my studio in Fletchertown, Cumbria.

His parents brought along a little dinosaur outfit too which we managed to get him to pose in – so cute! It’s always lovely for families to bring along their own props or blankets if they mean something to them, for example a family heirloom.

Rex wasn’t too keen on sleeping for his photos, preferring to stay awake and pull faces at us!

It’s always lovely to see baby’s personality.

After photos of Rex on his own we had time for photos with Mum and Dad too with some lovely photos of his head in their hands and his feet – which were not as tiny as you would think!

Such a lovely cute little family.

If you are expecting a new arrival soon please drop me a message to book in a photo session.

Christmas mini sessions 2023

Well I have now completed all my Christmas mini sessions now and what a year it has been.

It has been so lovely to catch up with families I have photographed before as they are growing and to meet new children too.

We have had fun with snowballs, cuddly toys and my new prop addition, the Elton John glasses!

I also spent two sessions with the lovely kids and parents at the two by two toddler group in Fletchertown as well where we did lots of singing to try and raise the smiles!

It is all worth it and a great idea to give to family as Christmas presents.

If you are looking for some up to date photos of your family drop me a message, I will be running some winter studio mini dates in Jan/Feb.

Happy Christmas to you all!

Daisy – newborn portraits

I met Jasmine when she was around 36 weeks pregnant so it was a pleasure to capture her new arrival; Daisy when she was a few weeks old.

Daisy was a little star for her photos as soon as she was wrapped up and cosy. We found lots of cute hats and headbands for her to wear!

Her big sister was a superstar too, posing for her photos and holding Daisy, such a cute little bond.

I love the photos of baby Daisy with Mum and Dad too, at one point we even thought Daisy was eating Dad’s nose!

Such a cute little family, a pleasure to capture this moment in your lives!

Willow & Eva – Lingholm portraits, Keswick

I first met Willow and Eva in Sheffield for a photo session there in the bluebells so it was lovely to be asked to capture their family holiday at Lingholm Estate in Keswick.

Lingholm gardens are a fantastic place and guests have access to the jetty too. It was a shame it was typical Cumbrian weather for their photo session but that didn’t dampen the girls enthusiasm!

There was jumping, running and posing galore and then time to warm up afterwards with a hot chocolate!

Capturing families on holiday in the Lake District is something I really enjoy and its a great way to capture memories for your family.

Freddie – cake smash

Its always great to see babies again after their newborn portraits and celebrate their first birthday and what better way to celebrate than with cake!

Freddie arrived at the studio raring to go, we had lots of fun first with balloons and blocks and playing peekaboo and wind the bobbin up, he has the most adorable smile!

After having some fun first we then presented him with a fab cake (provided by Delicious Doughnuts and delights). Freddie was gentle with the cake at first, prodding the cream but soon with the addition of a spoon he decided to use this to help him smash the cake, even putting his feet in it!

When he had enough of the cake we cleaned up and popped him in a bath where we had fun blowing bubbles!

I do love a cake smash, its such a fun way to celebrate your first birthday!

Harper & Ezra, Keswick family photos

If you are on holiday in the Lakes what better way to capture those memories than with a family photo session.

We headed to Keswick by the lake side for a family photo session with Harper and Ezra and family. Ezra wasn’t too keen on the camera until we headed to the lake for stone throwing!

Derwentwater has lots of geese and ducks by the water’s edge and they are usually always hungry so getting some bird food was a good idea although a cheeky goose stole poor Harper’s bag of food!

We also headed onto the jetty for photos too. Lovely happy memories. Natural family photos of everyone having fun are my favourite.

Forster family, Longlands Lake

I have done many photograph sessions with the lovely Forster family from Katie’s newborn shoot to Christmas portraits in matching jumpers.

It was lovely to see them again and this time with all their dogs for some photos at Longlands Lake in Cleator Moor.

We had fun wandering around the lake finding hiding places for the kids and jumping photos too.

It was great to see all their dogs too. Adds another dimension to running photos!

Millie and Katie enjoyed taking photos on my camera too at the end, great skills girls!

Poppy & Nell

Its always great to see children coming back to the studio again for more photos. I last met Poppy when she was turning 2. Now she is about to turn 3 and brought her little sister Nell in for photos too.

Nell is 6 months and such a cute little smiler, how adorable is she in her little dress!

Poppy took advantage of my teepee for hiding for photos and loved trailing flowers around too and generally running around. Perfect for those fun photos, I am a ninja at getting photos of kids in action!

A great way to celebrate a milestone year, book the studio in to celebrate your own special occasion. For first birthdays I even do cake smashes too!

Tommy & William, Threlkeld farm portraits

Its lovely to do on location photo sessions and at home portraits are lots of fun. These portraits of Tommy and William were special as they took place on their family farm in Threlkeld, Keswick.

As it was a typical January rainy morning we did some photos inside the house first with rocking horses and playing around.

After that we braved the weather for some photos on the doorstep and then headed into one of the barns for some photos with “lamb lamb” William’s pet sheep who is about to have her own babies.

We managed some photos with the cows too and had fun with some hay throwing before heading up the hill to the entrance where we could capture the family with the sign to the farm. Such a stunning location with 360 views of the fells.

A great day out, if you would like some at home family portraits drop me a message.

Baby Oscar, newborn photography

I love a newborn photo session and little Oscar is so tiny at just a week old. He was a little angel for his photographs in the studio at Fletchertown.

With the festive season coming up it was nice to get out my little Santa hats for photos!

After photos of just baby on his own it was time for photos with his Mum and Dad. These are always worth doing and I love to see the connection between parents and baby, its what makes newborn portraits so magical.

If you are expecting a baby in the new year let me know and we can book in a session around your due date x
